As a few already stated, you either have to cut it so it doesnt fall below the top of the collar or wear it up while in any uniform. As far as those who said men don't have to shave their heads, WRONG. Males do have to shave their heads during basic training. After that a male can let hair grow out to a different standard.

it particularly is in simple terms shaved once you pass as properly Camp. This helps with uniformity and that is in simple terms much less complicated to take a care of your self with out hair. you have not have been given fairly some time to bathe :0) you're actually not an inividual at Boot Camp, you're there to be made right into a Soldier. when you graduate Boot Camp, you are able to advance your hair interior of standards. you will quite could have a set decrease. you do not could save a shaved head to your finished enlistment.

In the British forces long female hair can be of any length you choose, but during work must be bunched up with a hairnet and clips to form a bun whilst in work.
Shorter hair (such as a bob) can not descend below the length of the collar.
Any dying/tinting is to look natural ie.pink isn't allowed.
Maybe if you'd have stated which country you were thinking of joining up with, you could get a more specific answer.

none of the branches do you have to shave your head however if you join the marines or army you may be obligated to cut it fairly short(above the collar) for basic training reasons it insures that you don't get your long hair caught in something and get hurt.
with the air force or navy you can keep it long. to go to through basic training i believe.
some women prefer to cut there hair anyways it makes it easier to deal with because in basic training you are only allowed 10 mins or so to shower clean up and get dressed and its not just you trying to do this you with 20 other girls trying to do the same so its just lower maintenance and easier to take care of. you cant spend time in the mirror to fix it because you simply dont have time to fix it. and this is all done at 4 am in the morning with a rude awakening of drill ssg or a horn.
in every branch of military there is restrictions for girls hair you can grow it as long as you want after basic training you do not have to keep it short the whole intire time a woman is in the military but you must keep it in a tight bun and no exotic up sweeps your hair must be put up so it is not touching your collar and no crazy hair dye jobs. when you are off duty and out of uniform you can do and wear your hair however you want.

No. As a matter of fact, a woman joining any of those branches of the service would be in trouble for shaving her head.
You have to either wear your hair securely up (in a bun, or a braid, or a simple twist) or it has to be shorter than the top opf your uniform collar. You can't have a "faddish" hairdo.

If you really want to join a branch of our armed services you would already know the answer is NO. Men are not even required to shave their heads. There are rules about how you must wear your hair and to what length.

No, and it is against regulations for a female to shave her head. That is considered an extreme hairstyle. You might as well go with a green mohawk if you're going to do that.

no, but hair must not reach the collar. you can opt to get it cut to regs before shipping out(highly recommended if you want something vaguely resembling a style) or they will do a slash and hack job when you process in. aftre your get through Basict training/Boot camp. you can grow it out agian, but again, while in uniform, hair cannot touch the collar.
