If you can only be with a dog for a couple of hours a day than I don't think it is a good idea to get a dog.
No breed of dog is "easy to take care of". All dogs need to be walked, fed, loved, played with etc. Dogs that are not properly cared for end up with behavior problems and then end up in shelters. Will you have time to potty train your dog? Train it not to jump, bark etc? Will you have time to take it to the vet?
If you are working and going to school full time you should really evaluate whether a dog is a good idea. If all you want a dog for is to play dress up maybe just get a doll.
Dogs are living things, not here just for you and your needs. They have needs and feelings too and should be treated appropirately. If your dog is going to be alone for 12-14 hours a day do you think this sounds like a good life?

If you just want a dog so you can dress it up get a stuffed dog, especially if you think you only have a couple of hours a day to spend with the dog. Dogs are pack animals and they are distressed when they are not with their pack (meaning you). If you really want and animal that you can just put bows in try a cat, you might get one to tolerate a hair bow. And the cat is fine being left alone for long periods of time.

A yorkshire terrier would probably be a good choice for you, except for the small amount of time you would be able to spend with the dog. But there are several options to keep a dog busy while you're away. I think a Yorkie would be a great dog for you. =)

A yorkie is a great breed. I'd suggest getting two little dogs if you're not gonna be home a lot. Dogs are social animals and are pack animals. Having a dog home alone is really not the best for the dog. I know everyone and their uncle has a dog in the backyard that's left all alone all day. If you really want to be a responsible pet owner then please consider all of your pets needs...this means not being lonely

If you only want the dog to dress her up I would say don't get her cause once the novelty wears off you will be stuck. However, if you want a dog and happen to want one you can dress up and use bows Yorkies are excellent. My friend has one and she always has little bows in her hair.

Yes yorkies are perfect, i have one! They are so sweet and easy to take care of. It only took six months to train mine how to sit, stand, and lay down. They are perfect for little bows too! But they are really a pain to groom when their hair is long, so i suggest having it get a puppy cut so that it is easier to brush. We did this with my dog, and plus, they look SO much cuter with their hair short!

I had a yorkie, she was a cute little thing. I would do the bows and stuff like that. Yorkies are very stubborn if not trained from day one. Go to your local book store, library, pick out a couple of books on different breeds. Find which one suites you the best. Ex. Yorkie, shiz tsu, pomeranians, breeds like that.

A yorkshire is good because it doesnt need as much attention as much as a lab or golden retriever. But make sure after work and school, you give lots of attention.(you canalso take ur dog to work or school.lolmaybe not but there are purses to carry small dogs.

I say don't get a dog. If you only have a few hours a day to devote to her than you shouldn't get her. A dog needs lots of attention and if you leave her alone all of the time she won't know you and won't follow what you say.

It sounds to me like you don't have time for another dog. It's nice to be able to dress them up, but they need a little more attention than that. Dogs, especially puppies need a ton of attention!! I know I have two dogs that require a ton of excersise and discipline!
