Personally, I find the rugby scrum feel of the site to be one of its charms.

anybody has a appropriate to believe or no longer believe as they choose. What no person has the remarkable to do is to push ideals or non ideals on every physique else. as an occasion, Sunday procuring and promoting regulations. The christians decide to maintain Sunday holy, the atheists do no longer see something holy in it and in the event that they're working 5 or 6 days a week decide to bypass procuring and socialise - so why are shops etc closed? Why are faculties in this united states of america instructed they might desire to have an assembly this is 'extensively Christian'? Why do Atheist infants and those of alternative religions might desire to 'decide out' of assemblies etc? Why is it that once a clergyman or pope or christian criticise and placed down different contributors of society this is considered as unfastened speech yet whilst an atheist does it, this is noted as 'criticising their faith?' seem in any respect the posters or maybe bus campaigns asserting a god exists - yet whilst an atheist group say god does not exist, it must be watered right down to stay interior the regulation. All small irritants, yet extra at the same time, it turns into very stressful. this is via the fact many religious human beings won't be in a position to maintain their faith to themselves and can desire to inflict it at something persons.

The Atheists for the most part have been some of my most staunch supporters and I am a Christian. SOME Christians attack other Christians with a viciousness I have never seen before. They are like bullies. They don't go after the Atheists because they let 'em have it but, they don't mind attacking some of the people here that they think are weak. This is not meant for all Christians but, for some real bonehead Fundamentalists.

3 reasons their is the fighting:

1) "Atheists express their rage against God although in their view He does not exist." --C. S. Lewis (Atheist turned Christian)

2) "Atheism is a crutch for those who cannot bear the reality of God". (-- Tom Stoppard) and therefore they feel they need to attack Christianity for revealing that they feel they need something more and don't want to admit it is God and following Jesus. (Usually pride)

3) Christians like to tell the truth... part of their marching orders from Jesus. They just often don't do it as well as they should through lack of empathy and love for the lost or through ignorance of the Bible.

The ignorant attacks are rather annoying though... too bad they didn't bother to try learing something before yelling an answer.

C.S. Lewis "When a man is getting worse, he understands his own badness less and less. A moderately bad man knows he is not very good: a thoroughly bad man thinks he is all right."

I don't think there should be personal attacks on here but I don't see anything wrong with a heated debate on what you believe. As an atheist i am always having to back up the reason why. To tell you the truth I find that it's the religious people who put an 'us' and 'them' barrier between atheist and Christians. I find that i am always having to back up what I believe when there is alto more evidence for what I believe.

I think you will find there are very few mature atheists on this site. You know when you encounter one, they're the ones who are respectful of others beliefs. The majority are simply bashers and trolls, usually not even 15 years old, and they do it for kicks. Bashers and trolls should just be ignored, because the more upset they get people, the more fun they have. It's all a joke to them. They either don't understand the concept of a question/answer board, or they're afraid of coming up against people who would really get a chance to debate them on a regular messageboard, its intimidating. It's easy here, one post, all done. On messageboards, there are actual debates, and these kids just aren't up to that. So really, if we'd just ignore them, they'd find another game. As for the christians, the ones who think they can convert people by telling them they're going to hell should be ashamed of themselves by trying to play God. But honestly, after a while, you get so fed up with the bashers and trolls you tend to hit back, so some of us aren't telling them they're going to hell but do tend to get irritated enough to give back some of what we get.

What do you think that Jesus would do? He went through the towns that he preach destroyed things that were not of value to the word. If he were here today walking on this earth he would go to the biggest churches destroy all of their book stores, coffee house and carnival exploits. If you follow Jesus you need to have kick a ss attitude! Jesus was not all Love, Love, Love. He chastised his own disciples all of the time and he picked these losers over the religious leaders of the day!

People by their core nature need a reason to feel superior to others. Many of the people here thinks their religious beliefs make them better than others, whether they are christians or athiests. In other categories, you will find other groups battling it out.

AMEN SISTER,,,, It's why I don't log-on very often anymore. Christians need to realize that it isn't Christianly at all to get into the "bashing wars" and it doesn't make anyone "want" to be a Christian.
