your question is one that will be asked for thousands of years as it has been.... no one will know the true answar of "what is true love" all answars will be in the matter of oppinion/theory! the closest to the answar you will ever become is when you experiance it....
my thoughts on what true love is... when you look at the person you are with and your heart fills with joy and peace... when you love them after any arguement, no matter who was right/wrong.... when you love them for every thing they are, not for what they do.... when you pray to God (if you believe in God, or just us it to give you an idea) they are the first thing on your mind.... when they can be a friend in which you can confide anything to, even things about them that bother you, and be your significant other, understanding and respecting you and being there for you....
it is only true love if all the above applies but MOST IMPORTANTLY it also has to apply by the other person or it is not true love!!!!
there is a fine line between true love and blind love... its blind love when:
you dont see thier flaws, everyone has flaws!
when they cheat on you, or do something wrong to you and they say they will change and you believe them
when they try to force you to do something that you dont want to and you do it cause think they love you
they try to change you and you dont think there is anything wrong with it

True love is an joke pulled on you by rich hollywood producers, an illusion created by a thousand words. If your looking for a cinderella based on a glass shoe your looking in the wrong place.
The major problem with marrage these days is that people think that once you fall in love the rest will come effortlessly. Let me tell you that nothing worth having comes easy, and love and a loving relationship are no acceptions.
Its not the answer you want to hear, but its the truth. So put down that romance novel and take a wiff at reality Romeo!

The love you have for yourself. That is true love.
When you love someone else that much as well, that is also a true love. That's why Christians are told to love they're wives as Jesus loved the church and gave He's life for her.

True love is your best friend, your hope, someone that truly fulfills you as you do them! But this can only be found with time and many will pass by as hopefuls until that one comes to you!
Normaly we dont even see it but more feel it when it happens but it is mature in nature not lust or impuslive!
AND if you think you know what it is you will not ask!
True love can happen and be lost by timing and circumstances in our lives but never give up hope! When you are truely happy with you it will come so much easier!

Loving one another....and if you are asking this because your parents are saying "Ohhhh.....you don't even know what true love is" thats a load of BS.....they just say that to make themselves feel good....if you don't know what it is..then they don't either...True love is loving someone with all your heart...
