The press in the USA does not show all the bad stuff. We have to go through the press in Europe to see the really bad stuff.

Well, the media does sensationalize things. But I think that more of the ugliness that was going on in war was exposed during Vietnam. Now the media is more controlled and only shows the occasional bomb going off without showing what is happening to the actual soldiers there and the Iraqi people. It's more detached and clean-cut now. I guess it's a way to keep Americans away from the realities of war so they will ignore it rather than try to end it. And I've heard the opposite from some serving. That the news often reports that four soldiers were killed when actually 16 were killed.
And THIS is showing all the bad stuff:

dude get a grip, you are a warrior or a lib wimp. the choice is yours.the reason you are in the military is to carry out your mission and kill the enemy.Screw the world, you belong to the USA.We bailed out Europe in world war 1 and world war 2 and they still are pus*ies.I'm more concerned about killing these pricks than building wells and sh*t.viet nam vet.

Liberal Media...It does not help them to show the compassionate side of our story and anything else that shows a benefit or positive effect of the war.

The press has an agenda. They want to:
a) erode confidence in the Bush administration
b) undermine support for the military
c) get the Democrats back in control of the White House and Congress (one down, one to go.)
d) relive their anti-Viet Nam Hippy days.
A) is the big one. That's why Bush's numbers are so low. That's why they keep saying Bush lied. They say it often enough that people will believe it. (Rudolph Hess said that, he was Hitler's propaganda minister.)

Because violence and negativity sells ad space. No one wants to see anything good coming uot of this war except death. That is why I don't watch the news.
