Is the "average" person male or female?

How active are they?

How old are they?

The amount of calories a person needs per day (yes, sitting on their butts all day) is called their BMR (Basic Metabolic Rate)

You can do a google search for a BMR calculator, put in the age, gender, weight, and height of a person, and it will give you a basic calorie count for just survival.

Hope that helps!!

This greatly depends on a few things (Weight, Body Composition, Age, Activity Level and Gender ). However, its fair to say that the range falls between 1600-2200 for most people.

If you are a male in your 20's 170-200 lbs then factor for something closer to 2000. If you're a female factor for closer to 1600. If you're over the age of 40 then factor for closer to 1600-1800 depending on gender.
