I heard that it was. But, was it really? And in what ways?

No not in the slightest. There are similarities between Christianity and some of the other religions though.

The only similarity I've noticed is Adams third born son was named Seth and a Egyptian god the Egyptians saw as evil named Seth.
It's also believed that Adams son built the great pyramid as a record of beginning times so it is possible these two Seth's are the same.

The Egyptians refer to the great pyramid as the temple of Seth. He actually built two of them, one of rock and the other of stone because of the possibility of the coming flood destroying the rock one.

Their are similarities. The portrait used as a model for Mary and the infant Jesus were taken from images of Isis with Horus. Isis was supposed to have had Horus by Osiris while she was still a virgin. (I think the story says they were married first so I guess someone figured out along the way that it didn't make much sense) They Egyptians had a main god...at some point, one Pharaoh (Ikhnaton) tried to change the whole country's religion to monotheism by only worshiping Aten. Tutankhamen was his son and when he inherited the throne, the country's religion went back to the original pantheon. There are few..A search engine would probably be more helpful but I think the Christian stories are more similar to Greek myths. The OT has some Egyptian roots but Babylonian and Sumerian, too.

What exactly you call "modern Christianity"? Calling real or fake Christianity is something but modern?

People in the 32 B. C. started call people believing in Jesus, christians. And it was a mean of saying "that person follow the way Jesus Christ showed". I don't know if nowadays it is the same. Now we call a person christian just because he bornes in a state on which official religion is christian but this does not mean that the person borned in that state is really following Jesus Christ therefore can not be named christian in the old meaning of the term.

Religion in Ancient Egypt was the human way to gods. Unlike christianity which is God's way of humans to God

Well, no. Most religions share some things. But the core of Christianity is definately different than that of Ancient Egypt.

Christianity is a made up name that was not mentioned anywhere in the bible. Followers of this religion are not following the true teachings of God. Christianity is being used as a vehicle for pagan religions. for example: look at the cross and compare it to the cross Egyptians made.. Look at the way Christians burry their dead... they dress them up and mummification them, put make up and then put them in the coffin with their valuables. Christmas and Easter are also ancient Egyptian holidays... and off course the idols, the drinking, adultery, fornication, eating pork that distant Christianity from God's teachings.

Not even close.

However those who have wished to discredit Christianity have been busy re-writing the history of religion in Egypt to make it appear that Christianity was based on something else.

There has been a lot of renewed interest in this since Dan Brown's book, The DaVinci Code, brings it up.

Dan Brown does not cite the real history of religion in Egypt, he cites the revised version of it.

If you want the real truth behind the DaVinci Code and the question you asked, listen to the 8 sermons from Coast Hills Church in the link below.

No, the ancient egyptians practiced polytheism while christians are monotheistic. The Egyptians also had a "form" of nature worship much like the indigenous peoples of South America. Unlike christianity which does not worship nature but the God who created all.

True Christianity is supposed to be anti-egyptian but since basically Paul went his own way breaking off from Peter, it slowly turned into the Egyptian/Babylonian mystery cults and then when Constantine declared it as the official religion of the Roman empire it became full fledged satanism and has been to the present day!

Yes, there are many similarities and almost far too many to list now. I suggest you watch this, it sums things up pretty well and is not that long. Also, it has graphics that I can't really display on the board.

How manifold it is, what thou hast made!
They are hidden from the face (of man).
O sole god, like whom there is no other!
Thou didst create the world according to thy desire,
Whilst thou wert alone: All men, cattle, and wild beasts,
Whatever is on earth, going upon (its) feet,
And what is on high, flying with its wings.
The countries of Syria and Nubia, the land of Egypt,
Thou settest every man in his place,
Thou suppliest their necessities:
Everyone has his food, and his time of life is reckoned.
Their tongues are separate in speech,
And their natures as well;
Their skins are distinguished,
As thou distinguishest the foreign peoples.
Thou makest a Nile in the underworld,
Thou bringest forth as thou desirest
To maintain the people (of Egypt)
According as thou madest them for thyself,
The lord of all of them, wearying (himself) with them,
The lord of every land, rising for them,
The Aton of the day, great of majesty

Those parts of Christianity whch differ from the teaching of Akenathon, are exactly those parts where his teachings were corrupted.
