Actually Kit Fang most forensic scientist never go to the scene. We actually do our work in the lab. The people who gets the evidence to us and go thru the scene depending on the area could be the actual police detectives or they might have a forensic technician - usually trained by the police department. They exclusively find the evidence, bag it and take it to the lab.
There are places that have criminologist (like in the west coast). I think they go to the scene and are actual agents.

The people who do DNA are also forensic scientists. Some might do microbiology and have a title of forensic microbiologist (if they do mitochondrial DNA). A pathologist looks at tissue samples to look for disease and usually works for the morgue, they have nothing to do with the forensic lab.
The person who does the analysis, writes a report about it. Only stating the facts. Its up to the detectives to figure out how everything comes together. The analysis is only one piece of the puzzle and usually the forensic scientist only has the bare facts of a case. Just enough to know what you want me to analyze and what you want me to find out from your evidence.

the person who does the blood samples and stuff is called a , microbiologist or sometimes a pathologist, NOT a forensic scientist. They look at the blood and hair samples, and the DNA of a person. However, the person who figures out who done it is usually a member of the police force, who relies on the labs to give them clues and evidence.

You have been watching (and believing) too much tv if you believe that the person who solves the crimes is the same person who does all the lab work. they are NOT the same person.

The majority of the time the individual who looks at the blood and hair samples will have no idea of the case behind those samples. The person who actually looks at the dead body will not be involved in the case either, besides saying 'they died from...' they do not figure out who killed them, they just find the appropriate evidence in dna and blood samples, which they hand over to the police. It is then the police that match these samples with a real person.

Try not watching so much Tv, as a forensic sciencist is the person who looks for fingerprints and hair etc. at the scene, they do not test it or anything.

The person's job title will that chosen by the relevant organisation. The generic name would certainly be 'forensic scientist' but it could be 'senior forensic scientist', 'forensic biologist/biochemist', 'forensic DNA analyst'. 'fornsic consultant' etc. etc
