"God works ALL things for good to those that love Him."
God promises never to test us beyond our endurance.
This is not a bible verse but it's always helped me through my trials. It is something that I learned over my many years of being a Christian. That is, the worse and longer your trial is, the greater good will come from it. As I said that is not stated in the bible but my family and friends have all found it to be true also.
We will pray that God will keep him safe and bring him home soon. I'm sure God will use this hard time for him for good in his life.

My all-time favorite. "In my house there are many mansions, and I have prepared a place for you." I take this to mean that He prepares a place for us on this earth and in the place on the other side. I would also say that He has prepared a special place for your brother whereever he is right now and that He watches and protects him now and forever.

28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,[j] who[k] have been called according to his purpose. 29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
Psalms 39:7
"But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.
2 Samuel 22:2-4
"The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn [a] of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior— from violent men you save me. I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies."

" For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
