i think its also called the shinkansen. im doing a project and i need to know how much it costs to ride the bullet train. pls help. thx

No! The shinkansen (新幹線 / bullet train) are not scary at all! I've been on them a few times, and I've never noticed any 'bumping'...!! The only 'scary' thing would be to buy a Jiyuuseki (自由席) ticket ... which basically means taking pot luck over whether you actually get a seat or not!!! Imagine travelling long distances standing up, or sitting on the floor...!! Even at high speeds, that's no fun!
