Depends, you will definetly lose body fat but you will also gain muscle and muscle weighs more than fat does. It isn't a bad thing though if you look fit.

definitely - situps works your core, which is really the key place that needs to be in shape in order to be fit. doing them will only help u lose weight on ur upper body though, so if ur looking for skinnier legs, than i suggegst jogging. also, standing while watching tv as opposed to sitting can be very beneficial (i know it's a weird thing to do, but it helps)...
while doing situps, try twisting to a side after u have gone up: this will help thin out not only the middle front of ur stomach but also the sides. good luck!!!

It will help you lose weight but the abs are not a large muscle so dont burn much energy.. better for body fat reduction to choose an exercise that uses larger muscles like legs, shoulders, etc concurrently... for example, lunges, squats, deadlifts, bentover rows and pushups.
Of course losing weight requires a calorie deficit... that is, you burn more energy than you consume.

You have to burn 3,500 calories more than you eat to lose on pound. Situps burn a very small amount of calories so it is not likely; this will only make your abdomen muscles stronger and more defined.

Yes, but it's not very efficient. Simple aerobic exercise is better. Or just taking a brisk walk (which is more fun than sit-ups anyway). Unless you can do sit-ups for a half-hour or more in one session, you're wasting your time for weight control.

no you cant - sit ups build muscle, they do NOT burn fat- so your belly will look bigger since there is gona be more muscle underneath the layer of fat.
the only fat burning exercise is cardio - burns fat all over your body - you cant spot reduce body fat.
