Absolutely!! Just take a large pot and use either V-8.. or canned swanson's fat free beef or chicken broth, add all your favorite veggies to the pot. Cook for about 45minutes to an hour.
My husband and I cook a 4 quart dutch oven full of veggie soup and then freeze it in individual containers. That way we have a weeks supply of soup and all is needed is to make a salad with fat free dressing!
p.s. for carbs add, a handful of rice or barley. For protein add a bit of cooked chicken or small steak cut up.
Be creative its tons of fun!!

Vegetable soups are great - Here is a recipe I got at Weight Watchers. Any low-fat vegetable soup would also be fine. Try to get low salt soups.
WW Garden vegetable soup

1 1/3 cup diced carrots
1 cup diced onion
4 cloves garlic, minced
Water + bouillon to make 6 cups
3 cups diced cabbage (or Chinese cabbage)
1 cup green beans
2 TAB tomato paste
1 tsp dried basil
½ tsp dried oregano
½ tsp salt
1 cup diced zucchini

In large saucepan sprayed with non-stick spray, sauté carrot, onion and garlic over low heat till softened (about 5 minutes)
Add broth, cabbage, beans, tomato paste and spices.
Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer , covered about 15 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
Stir in zucchini and heat 3-4 minutes.

Ouch, some of the suggestions on here might hurt you.
If cooking with V8, I'd opt for their new lower sodium kind, the regular amounts are incredibly bad for you. Also, if your going to buy soup from a store, avoid campbells soups. There also extremley high in sodium. I'd suggest making your own soup with low sodium chicken or beef broth and chop up some vegetables and/or chicken to throw in. Hope this helps (:

Be careful not to use starches, or cream soups. Use a vegetable or chicken stock or broth and build your own soup. All green vegetables are great as well as carrots, tomato, onion, garlic, cabbage etc.. Things like corn, potato, lima beans, all have a starchy quality. I used to make a spicy cabbage and tomato soup that was the bomb. In fact, I think I will fix some tomorrow, thanks to you. There are several recipes on the web.

Soup can be a wonderful diet food. I don't have any recipes per se but tomato, vegetable soups. Any soup that doesn't have a cream base would be a good bet.

Hey if you don't eat soup and you're on a diet already you will die so you better eat something!!!

And since you're on a diet, don't eat a soup with a lot of broth and stuff in it. You should check out Chunky Soup in your nearest grocery store.

If you make your biggest meal in the morning, you'll eat less throughout the day, and you'll lose weight.

You may want to be careful with some store bought soups as they contain a lot of sodium and when you consume great amounts of sodium, you retain water. I would try to stick to fresh foods like vegetables and fruits. If you must have soup, try something with low sodium ;)
