Yes, abuse is encouraged. Now shut your mouth and make me a sandwich.

I think that to a point he has to make the choice of accepting forgiveness from God. There are instances where a person makes up for the sin of another. Like with the Divine Mercy devotion, Jesus told Saint Faustina is she prayed this in the presence of the dying he would not be as the Just Judge, but the Merciful Savior.
God Bless and keep praying,
Elisha

I'm an atheist so I don't know if I'm really in a position to answer this question but I will tell you what I was taught growing up: Everyone will have a chance to repent of their sins after they die. This includes your bf. He may not have repented while on earth but he will still have his chance in the afterlife. And you can rest assured that the remorse he will feel in the next life for what he did will far outweigh any pain he may have caused you in this life. And if you handle the situation gracefully, if you forgive him and just focus on trying to live your life the best you can, then you will be very well rewarded for it in the next life

Only if he accepts Jesus...I went through physical/emotional abuse as well at the hands of a man...you are a good person, actually you are a better person than me, I have forgiven him, but I have not prayed for his salvation. He has to seek it, if we could pray for each other and redeem each others sins, then all the Atheists on here would have a direct pass to Heaven I know I'm not the only one that prays for them=)
They always say they are sorry, just be glad that you are not in that situation, and be careful of your choices in men. We do not want to but we tend to pick men who are very similar to our ex's...

According to Christianity and this is what I know from Christians them-self...
You can do whatever you want as a christian because you have already been "saved" just because you are a christian and Jesus suposedly already paid for all sins so now you are free to sin all you want but because you are a Christian you are just destined to go to heaven.
On the other hand in Islam, being a Muslim is not a direct ticket to heaven. Allah looks into a persons heart and mind and everyone is responsible for their own actions (sorry but it makes more sense). and if your bf was a Muslim he would have to repent and not repeat his actions or he would be punished.

All sins no matter what their nature need to be repented off, abuse of others is offensive and against the law of God, your prayers for him are true Christian charity and as such God will hear them and and He too desires his conversion but in the end he will have to personally admit his sins to God.

A man has a perfect right to correct his woman whenever he sees a need for that. It's not a sin, I could say it's even a man's duty.

I would imagine, like all other sins, it would depend on his heart when he died. If he were truly sorry, asked for forgiveness and repented, then yeah, he would go to heaven.
But if, like you say, he didn't repent, then it's a non-issue, he's probably not going to heaven based upon his heart.

If he puts his shoulder into it and lands a good one, heaven it is. If he only manages a wimpy tap and she can still kick him in the nut sack, he hasn't earned paradise at all.
In the Eastern Orthodox Christian Church - the one without the schisms, homosexual pedophiles, and gaudy Rolex watches - *everybody* goes to Heaven without exception or delay. Those who embraced God forever luxuriate in the infinite radiance of His inconceivable love. Those who denied God burn in it.
Everything else is footnotes and Accounts Receivable.

ok...did you forgive him...if you did that's most important part. he will stand in front of GOD (at his last days) and only he will answer to GOD. only HIM. If he didn't ask GOD for forgiveness or ask you to forgive him he will go straight to HELL
