Mostly memory addressing, Vista32 cant address more than 4GB of physical memory (and most times your Vista can only see 3GB or a bit more).

Vista64 dont have this problem, plus when running applications written for 64bit, they run smoother and faster due to the way it can address memory in more than 2GB/block at a time.

In the x32 platforms they are used day by day windows applications (web browsers, computer games) simple executables. In the x64 things are a bit changed because this type of platform is using very advanced type of applications, more powerful, but very rare cause advanced programs are not very popular. So many of us are still in 32 bit style :)
