Did you apply for it - for example by filling in a form at a supermarket ?

Yes ? - then it is legit.

No ? - then I guess they just sent you something in your email (this is called SPAM) and the whole thing will be a SCAM of some sort = most likely 914 Advanced Fee Fraud, or possibly an illegal Pyramid Scheme

Unlikely. They're all scams.
