Girl I am with you all the way. I have never met my father and never plan to. He also was an addict and a alcoholic. My mom was kinda their for me when I was growing up, but like yours, she was very passive and never really cared. I know what its like to not have a father so im with you all the way. Im still only 19 but I dont need him.
So what do I do on fathers day? Nothing, I just act like its another day. I try and stay as busy as I can, hang out w/friends or what not.

Just another day to me now. The only real father that I've really known is my uncle that I use to live with when I was little. He treated me like a real father should and I will always love him for it. As far as I'm concerned my Aunt and Uncle are my real parents. My Uncle died in May of 2000. I still miss him a lot.

Five father days ago, my Dad who picks us up for every other weekends, left. He and my mother divorced when I was 2. When I was in the 6th grade, he moved to Alabama where I can see him every other weekends. We made up for lost times until it was in the summer of my 8th grade year in father's day. We had a loony noons best dad in the world shirt and a card with an enclosed "I love you" and $5 for a soda on the way. We were waiting on the sofa. We waited until it was 10 P.M. The next day we called his house, no answer. A month ago, the newspaper announced the divorce of my father and my stepmother. He ran away with his child support check. Never seen him since.

That's a horrible thing to say about ANYONE, even if he does have problems. My dad was an alcoholic, but he was the most loving, caring, protective father anyone could have asked for. I miss him more than anything...this is my first Father's Day without him. =(

It hurts me to see you say that. I want you to know my dad was an alcoholic too, and he did die last year. We found him passed out on the floor, like we had many times before, except this time he wasn't breathing. He was a difficult person and I was very angry at him at times, but I couldn't believe the grief I felt when he died. I thought I hated him sometimes too, but you never know how you feel about someone till they're gone. I'm sorry you don't have a great relationship, but please don't say things like that about your father.

I think both Mother's and Father's Day are Hallmark Holidays. I have an okay relationship with my Dad. We are more alike because we have the same profession.

well i really hate father's day bc everybody is with there dads and happy, while I'm left alone because my dad left my mom and me, and it reminds me that he did not want me, and that if i wasn't born that maybe my mom and dad would still be together
