I have recieved a few emails from a "reunion.com" where my ex's new wife has used my email address and said my maiden name was "prostitute." Albeit it's hillarious ( heck I laughed because it couldn't be further from the truth) but as funny as it is I feel it's harrassment and slander to start not to mention she assumed my identity to open the account. Now anyone who has searched me name on their data base has saw that name next to it as "my own." What laws protect me from this. Surely she can't get away with this? Would my local police have any jurisdiction over this? ( she lives in the state next to mine..what about finding the ISP address from when the a count was opened? help? Ps... I have a restraining order against him.

Did you complain to Reunion.com? If not, do so. If they can't help you, ask what you can do to stop the harassment.

You can also ask your police department if they can give you a suggestion on what to do.

I don't know if there are laws that let you sue Reunion.com, if the harassment does not stop.

Good Luck.

If it were me, I'd start off with the FBI office that should be listed in your telephone book under Federal, State, County or City listing for your area. I have an ex with a 2nd wife who used my id & ssn to do similar things & although I could not prove it, I made sure the authorities were aware of it in case she decided to take it up a notch & get me caught up in the middle of one of her scams. She's now an ex wife & she could still keep on being stupid. You need to protect yourself, because this woman has the ability to make your life a living he//. You need to get the TRO on her also & what she has done should give you the proof you need to have her arrested & charged once the case is proven. She is harrassing you. Possibly at the request of him, since his hands are tied with the TRO that you have on him. Call the FBI & the DA ASAP. Keep copies of all this & take them into court with you when you request the TRO on this wench. I feel for you. It's good that you are in another state, cuz you probably don't need to see either one of these low-lifes!

Forget it, why do you think we have a number on our passport? Because MANY peoples do have the same name as us, so they need a number to identify us...
So if she use ALL your personal information, like birth, location, residence address, now you may fill a complain with the FBI for Identity theft, but other than this... Good luck
