do dogs need all shots every year or is it just rabies?

i went to one vett he said they do that to charge more money the other vett told me they need all shots every year. sombody please let me know.

The majority of vets are giving a 3-year rabies shot.

As for the rest, all honest vets are now in agreement that dogs have been over-vaccinated since the beginning of booster shots. According to my vet, the drug companies are now admitting that dogs don't need shots every year. So many people are now running titers that the proof is irrefutable.

My vet recommends, after puppy shots, and the booster a year after that, that dogs get booster shots every 3rd year, rabies every 3 years and no dog over the age of 10 needs a shot ever again.

I lost one dog becase he got auto immune caused by his booster shots. I started researching it then, too late for him, but I know my other dogs will be safe.

Rabies vaccinations for canines are oftentimes good for 3 years, a minimum of the make of vaccination my vet provides. A domestic dog's rabies is nice for a three hundred and sixty 5 days, then the booster and next ones are good for 3 years.

Vaccine are highly recommended for dogs starting at 6-8 weeks of age.

The basic Yearly Vaccines are:
DHLPPC & Bordatella.

The first Rabies vaccine is good for 1 yr, then it is required every 3 years.

For puppies at about 8 weeks old:
Boost the DHLPPC every 3-4 weeks & 2 Bordatella vaccines during this time until they are 16 weeks old.
At 16 weeks they get their 1 year Rabies vaccine.

A year after that, they need their annual boosters and their 3 year Rabies vaccine.

Vaccines are for the protection of the dog, not to make money. Vets don't make any money off vaccines. They don't cost that much and vets can't charge enough on vaccines to make a profit anyways.

Most shots that dogs get are yearly. But rabies on the other hand usually when it is there FIRST rabies shot it is for one year. Then the next year you can get one for 3 years. They are trying to look into maybe not vaccinating pets yearly with the other shots also, but not as of yet have they came up with anything. But go with what is best atm, all shots are yearly rabies, every three years (unless it is there first rabies vacc.) I hope that helps, unless your state is different..

Dogs do need a new rabies shot every year ... there are other shots that need to be 'renewed' every two or three years, but some vets just give them once a year 'to be safe' since most owners don't 'pay that much attention' to the dates, so they may be 'way off' and cause a 'very sick dog' if they aren't given 'more regularly than necessary.'

My vets give rabies every 3 years, and WILL NOT give boosters of any other shots after a dog is 7 years old because of the depression of the dog's immune system.
Thank God I have ethical vets!

Call your animal control... see what your county rules are.

I get a 3 yr rabies after the first yr rabie shot.

All Vaccines are good for 7 years!! The Vets want make money so the drug companies but nobody will tell you that.
