As a person of faith, what are your thoughts about this quote?

I cannot say I am a person of faith, but to address the question, I would say Steven Henry Roberts is spot on accurate. The beliefs in Zeus, Poseidon, Thor, Isis, and all the plethora of gods in our history have been dismissed as myths, and there is no reason why we cannot add our current delusions in Allah, Jehovah, Jesus, Brahma, Vishnu, etc. on the scrap heap of older religious certainties.

Outside of various references to a real historical context, the Judeo-Christian objects of veneration, and those of eastern religions, are no more defensible than the fantastical myths of ancient Greece or Egypt.

As Richard Dawkins is fond of saying:“We are all atheists about most of the gods that societies have ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further."

Because it seems in history that though other civilizations believed in other forms of gods and in some cases the same gods they did not last all that long. The only true God that I know has existed from the beginning of time. From the beginning of the Bible until Christ's time and all the way to now...there is ample evidence of his long lasting call to people. I have had my life touched greatly by HIM. I do not know what else you are looking for?

It's a false statement. I understand why I dismiss all other possible gods. But since he doesn't elaborate, l don't understand why he dismisses mine. And therefore his statement is false.
