As I said before, people believe what they want to believe. There was a similar question before, where the questioner was accusing Muslims of worshipping bricks. I will say again, Islam is all about unity, all Muslims are united to do whatever Allah asks us to do. The Kaaba was built by the Father of Prophets Ibrahim (or Abraham) when asked by Allah to do so. It is a direction where all Muslims have to face. All Muslims all over the world are united and face the same direction.Yes it is called the house of God, but Allah does not live in there. Whoever wants to believe otherwise, be my guest!

You tell me.
From what I see most christians, because of their absolute zeal in the defense of the bible being asolutely the only word of God and a closed book of Scripture, in a sense, worship the bible, rather than the one who originally authored it, being God, and thus commit idolatry.
In my religion we have this belief:
We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow ALL men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.(BOLD ADDED)
(Pearl of Great Price | Articles of Faith 1:11)
I pray that those of other faiths, most especially Christianity and Islam would follow this priniciple of freedom of worship.
Iraq and other so called Muslim countries will never be truly free until they stop compelling those who live within their borders to worship at the altar of Islam.
I am sure I will get "marked" for this but they can only be called free when Jews, Buddists, Hindus, Christians and all other faiths can come and live and worship freely in their lands. Just as freely as they do in the United States of America, The United Kingdom and other countries.

Ka'abah, Jerusalem and other places of Holy Worship act as a Direction, not as a worshipping idol. An idol is someone you consider divine with Godly abilities, or someone you just bow down to, while in none of the cases this is the situation.

I think it's saying that idols aren't holier than the bricks & cement we use everyday. That they just as the same & have no powers.
Wait... but there could be evil spirits my mom has told me..

Can we stop with the religious squabbling?
All religions are based on faith. Thus, none can be proven. Thus, no religion is more likely to be real or unreal than any other.
So it doesn't make sense to argue over obscure theological codes. Or to threaten others with hell or accusations over being a "heretic."
