Yes members of the Irish Republic have the same status in the UK as members of the Commonwealth, and that includes the ability to join the UK armed services.

Some posts are restricted and available to British born citizens only for security reasons, however flying of most aircraft is allowable (I once served with a guy who flew Harriers in the first Gulf War)

However you should remember that you must have lived in the UK legally for 5 years before your application.

Also as your from the republic you must also be able to prove that you or your family have no ties to any Irish terrorist of paramilitary organization (republican or loyalist) and that your not overtly "Catholic" in your views.

Good Luck

Yes, you definitely can. I know several members of the RAF who are from Eire. The MOD advertise a lot or you could always get in touch with the RAF Recruiting Office in Belfast who would be able to advise you. Good luck.

Only way to know is to ask. They take all commonwealth nations as applicants but as Rep Ireland isnt part of it I am not too sure.

http://www.raf.mod.uk/careers/nextsteps/ask_a_question.cfm

email RAF careers and they will be able to tell you.
