The worldwide flood that destroyed all life on earth except for Noah, his family, and the animals in the ark occurred in 4990 B.C. In 2 Peter 3 God refers back to this flood and then transitions to the destruction of the universe by fire. In verse 8 God says, "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." This is interesting because God told Noah to get inside the ark 7 days before He brought the flood (Genesis 7:4).

In verse 8 of 2 Peter 3 we read that interesting Scripture. If we add 7000 to 4990 B.C. (1 day = 1000 years) we arrive at the year 2011 A.D. Is this the year Christ will return as the "Lion of the tribe of Judah" to rapture the saints, destroy the universe bringing judgment on the ungodly, and create a new Heaven and Earth?

Before you answer, remember God told Abraham and Lot before He destroyed Sodom + Gomorrah.

**PLEASE NOTE: I AM NOT STATING A DAY NOR HOUR; JUST The YEAR.

Noah's flood was more like 2400 B.C. The thousand year verse is simply to illustrate that time means nothing to God---he created it and is above being controlled by it like we are. In fact, he can make it stand still and go backwards---check out 2 Kings 20:10 and Joshua 10:12-13 Good effort though---no one knows when the return of Jesus will be so any predictions or Mayan calendars are not worth studying.
Best to be prepared for it at any time as it could come "like a thief in the night"

first of all, it would be 2010 not 2011.
second, why are you adding 7000 to 4990? how did you come to the conclusion that 1 day=1000 years?

Let's us make a deal, but don't tell anybody else, OK? On January 1, 2012, I'd like you to do one of 2 things.
One, you can lean over the "pearly gates" and get a gander at yours truly burning in the pits of hell, or (and work with me on this one) you can e-mail ME and explain why you, and so many more like you, insist on being wrong, time, after time, after time.
And if that's too timid for you, we can wager ALL OUR ASSETS that 2011 will come and go and JC will still be a legend in your own mind. How can you lose? You've got "prophesy" on your side? Whaddaya say? And hey! what will assets matter if we're cashing it all in that year anyway? Right?

You've got my e-mail address, so it should be easy to make arrangements.

If God wants to destroy the universe in 2011, hey....if He's God, He can do what he wants.

The question I have is, when He does do whatever He's going to do, will He also be throwing a lot of people in Hell, despite their best intention -- merely because they guessed wrong about the nature of life?

Many of His zealots praise God for a lot of things, but I never here Him parised for being fair.

The day-week-year is a fluid date. 2 Pet 3:12 says we can "speed it's coming" so the faster or slower we save souls, either pushes the date out, or moves the date closer to today. So, the question now changes to: How many souls are left to save?

I don't believe we can predict day hour or year only God knows and we will find out when the time comes but know one can tell when the end time is not even the year

Please, please, please if you believe this then feel free to share. Just don't expect alot of people, even Christians, to think you are not a few french fries short of a happy meal.

All in all, does it really matter to Christians how your end of the world will go down? Why should it if you guys and gals have it all figured out? Come on - if Christians were so sure about their Heavenward Journey, they wouldn't NEED to worry about end-times.

Like it or not, if this world ends, it will be at the hands of man and not God.

Nope - that's just as arbitrary as any other date.

When asked the question ""Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?" Jesus said to them: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority."

So stop with the date setting.

After the return of Christ, the world is going to still be here for at least another 1,000 years.
Don't you people read your Bibles?
It's not going to end at his return.
At his return--the first resurrection (those worthy to rule with Christ) will be raised/transformed into the spirit form.
After the 1,000 year rule of Christ, the second resurrection--the resurrection onto judgment will take place.

Could be. But, we'll never know untill it comes. I can't wait, though. I'm a little nervous about Judgement Day, though.
