Getting a dishonorable discharge doesnt look good to any job, so you will have a hard time getting a job ...yes

If you got anything but an honorable discharge from the Army you are not eligible for any government job including fire services. Basically if you didn't finish your enlistment like you were supposed and got separated you need to find some other civilian job.

It depends on what you were dismissed for I work for the govt at on of the naval ship yard and I have a supervisor who had a less than Honorable discharge for a failed drug test. So to answer your question yes that should not disqualify you, now there may be other factors that the FD uses but they are a city employment so I am sure that as long as you are honest and do not lie on ap that you just may get in. Like I said be for it will not disqualify you from federal employment even when you to get a security clearance so good luck to you.

Depends on your discharge, but for Federal Service you must have an Honorable. You are now going to find out what bad conduct can do to your life.

Getting anything but a Honorable discharge makes getting a job at McDonalds hard, almost impossible at another Gov job.

possibly, most of the emergency services insist on 'exemplary' on your service character assessment. Its worth a try though, if you dont youll never know. Good luck!!

I should apply, what have you to lose? You will have a lot of explaining to do, but is it actually a dishonourable discharge or an administrative discharge. There is a difference
