You see, I upgraded my motherboard and RAM. I did research on this major upgrade and was ready to reinstall windows vista right after initial startup. Instead it didn't stop but continued to booting Windows Vista. Now I am up and running, I just reactivated Windows Vista [Home Premium] yesterday. Extremetech.com recommends reinstalling an OS after the motherboard has been upgraded.

All I need to know is if I would have to reactivate windows vista[home premium] again after that little incident.

(I would like to perform a clean-install)

the OS is NOT located in the motherboard it is in the HDD. upgrading your motherboard only changes the BIOS, but when you boot up for the first time with the upgrade, the new bios should recognize everything ok. when vista loads, it might need to install new updated drivers to go along with your new MB. it might not though. its okay either way. as long as u can login to vista everythings fine. no u wont need to reactivate vista. thats only if you upgraded ur hard drive. good luck!

There should be no issues if its a retail version. If the version is OEM then you might have an issue reactivating as the OEM version is tied to the current hardware.

It wouldn't matter anyway. If you are still the registered owner, then even if you have to reactivate, it won't count against one of your "installed licenses".
