First off all there is 2 ways this happened. first you may of
been resorting something and you pulled the plug (this means
if you didn't get windows OS Cd with you will have a huge
bill to buy the OS CD or go to a repair store )(the Cd can
vary to what OS you have). The 2nd thing is that some
freak hacked into your PC and he hacked your hard drive
and while your will restoring your PC he destroyed that file.
I would lastly like to end this by buy panda Internet spy wear
blocker its the best and ether of these to problems will
cost from 150-400$ because this is a main file to run your PC.

Put your XP disk into your CD drive and restart your system. This will start the XP installation process. When you come to the screen that asks if you want to install XP or if you would like to “Repair” XP, choose Repair. This will open the repair console command prompt. At the prompt, type: chkdsk /r. (There is a space between the k and the /. Now hit “Enter”. The repair should now start. Allow it to run until it stops. This can take some time, so be patient.
If all goes well, XP will replace any and all missing operating system files.

"ntoskrnl.exe" is a auto-execute file within windows that windows depends on strongly. Depending on which OS you have, you need the find someone who has the same OS and copy the file to a CD, FLoppy, or USB removable storage device. To access this file you need to go to START >> Run... >> type in the following: C:\WINDOWS\system32. press enter. go to search and the type in the missing filename. NOTE: if a desktop PC, you must remove the hard drive, set the rear jumper to master connectg it to anothe CPU, it can get VERY complicated. if you are really into computers you would know what i am talking about but if not refer to a friend or support team of ur CPU's manufacturer. good luck!
