I know some people do not agree with Megans Law, but I'll repost some of what I just wrote on another category. My father got 6 months in prison for raping a 6 year old girl in 1983. I'm sorry, but if you destroy a childs life...you should get a life sentence, even if that sentence is just a permanant social stigma of being the guy/girl that lives in the house that your children are not to play near. Because of Megans law not coming into play until the late 90s. he now lives undetected in a nice neighborhood in a different state. I would just as soon move next to a thug or murderer before a child rapist. I would be mortified to find out after the fact that I'd been living next to a molestor. To my knowledge, he has not "struck again"...but I always feel a sense of guilt for not being able to do anything to protect children that may be in that community.
btw...they've really revamped that site since I last visited. They didn't even have pictures before. Also, it's important to remember that not all of them are child molestors. There's various degrees of criminal sexual misconduct ranging from laughable to if I only had a shotgun.

i might easily shop an exceedingly close eye on my young infants! i does not choose a registered baby molester in my neighbourhood besides the shown fact that there is not any longer something which may be performed approximately it. so a techniques as i be attentive to however the regulation a minimum of is had to demonstrate the certainty they seem to be a registered criminal so the parents are conscious and can use extra warning.

Thhey have to register with the city, county and state that they are in. I'm sure there are some who get lost in the shuffle. I do know that they are not allowed to live within a certain proximity of a school. We have one in our area and we get a post card every year or 6 mos. that shows his picture and his address. If yours is not registered and you know he is a child molester, contact your local police and have him investigated! In my opinion, they are MONSTERS!

Lila probably has the best answer here but I'll throw my two pennies in too. As a father I would either sell the house, buy a gun, (... I'm not finishing that one.) just move its easier than trying to rehabilitate or bury your kid.

If you know the persons name, and obviously you know the address, you can go to the local police or sheriff's dept. and ask if they have reported and listed themselves as a sexual offender. You cannot go to their home and harass them. You cannot make false statements about them. If after you DO find out they are listed and reported as a sexual offender, you can identify and inform your neighbors, and be sure to include where they can also check where you got your information too, some may be skeptical, even though they deem you trustworthy. Good Luck, and be safe.

How do you know he is a child molester? Just because someone is in the sex offender registry does NOT make them a child molester. Click on the link to the section of statute on the registry site that accompanies his pic and you will see there are several activities he could have engaged in to get him there that have nothing whatsoever to do with children. BTW, do you worry more about sex offenders living in your subdivision than you do drug dealers, murderers, thieves, and robbers??? You may never even know how many of these types of criminals live near you.

God damnnnnn it say's that guy is 7 foot tall... I could still kick his as$ though :)
I'm sure he'll be easy to spot... and look at what he was charged with... he's not a child molester or a rapist (more than likely not, that is)

Nothing. Our government doesnt care if your kids get molested! Criminals have more rights than good, law abiding citizens. Just keep watch your kids and dont let them run off on their own. This country is FU*K*D up.

you cannot harass them or bother them because then you would be breaking the law and that person could use that to get a restraing order against you.
