Brain over brawn any day when brain has skill too with it. Not only can they outthink their opponent they can out fight and out skill them and use their opponents great strength against them hence defeating them. Their great strength would be their weakness to a skilled and intellectual warrior versus pure brawn and no brain.

I'm appaled at what people here are saying.

no information other than "the most skilled" was given. What if that most skilled turned out to be 104 lbs and the strongest in the world is got to weigh around 350+lbs.

this is a no-brainer for the strongman.

however what if the most skilled guy turned out to be 250lbs?

Then it is clearly in his favor.

There comes a point where stregth will overpower skill in UNARMED combat.

however, now give em both swords or spears then the skilled guy is at a HUGE advantage. Whereas if he was at 105lbs, he might not even be able to really hurt the big guy. however do you know many people that can take a knife, sword, spear or bullet and NOT be hurt?

Ok, maybe he has to empty the clip, but skill still wins with weapons.

Weapons make people equal. And martial arts is a term that encompases all forms of warfare, including nukes and bombs. However I knew what you meant so I didn't say anything.

The simple fact is, the bigger the size/stregth difference, the more skill needed to equalize it. Yes, a martial artist might learn to deliver more power effectively, thus through a combination of natural stregth and knowing how to use it effectively (technique) and maximize it, he can generate more power. However too much of a stregth advantage and even with this he can't deliver as powerfull force or even get off certain techniques because the guy will just plain overpower him.

Bottom line is we need a better description of the "skilled" guy. Everyone here keeps jumping to the conclusions that the "muscular" guy is slow. That is a load of crap. Not all "huge" people are slow. Thats a myth.

This all depends on the type of martial artist. But I would say the martial artist because they use different strikes the the typical boxer (elbows, knees, kicks, different hand strikes). So they can keep more distance like they could throw a kick then step back and repeat that. So If the martial artist keeps their distance, they would win, but if they get too close to the boxer, he could throw a knockout punch. But this all depends on if the 2 fighters are the same weight and size and how long they have been training in their fighting styles.

The most skilled Martial Artist would probably win. All physical things that attribute to fighting skill are nothing wihout skill.
Strength, speed, power, and the others require skill to aid fighting ability. The skilled Martial Artist knows what flaws the strongest human has, and they may use that accordingly.
For example:
Tajitsu/Bujinkan (Unarmed Ninja Combat) has a lot of nerve and vital point striking. The strongest human wouldn't have nerves of steel (Not the quote, but literally having impenetrable nerves), so a skilled practitioner of this style would wait for him to strike, counter and strike him somewhere like the armpit (Lots of nerves here) or heart. That moment where he/she feels pain if enough for the taijitsu/bujinkan practitioner to come in for the kill (If the strikes hasn't already done so).
Strength and power are both elements of fitness, but the strongest human may not have as much power as one would think.
I can kick almost as powerful as two people in my Tae Kwon Do class that both weigh 100 pounds more than I do.They both have stronger legs than I do, but I have skill (And in some ways speed and power) to compensate for me having less strength than they do.
Skill is required for a good fighter. No skill can ruin almost any martial art element. The elements behind certain almost always involve skill: Whether you are striking someone in the head with a kick, or you are doing a crucfix armbar.

like most people said, there is a point where size might be insurmountable to even the most skilled martial artist...

but at the end of the day it's not likely that 350lb giant would have the speed or stamina to even lay a hand on the ridiculously under sized 105lb "greatest ever" martial artist, given that his skill is at such a high level even an idiot knows that it would be in your best interest to stay away from all that power and pot-shot, (break small bones in the fingers and toes, feet, wear him out, make him chase you low risk moves that will not necessarily inflict a great deal of damage but keep you safe from being counted and obviously grounded....for example), until the point in time that he's tired and broken down enough to go in for the kill

well, the strongest guy lis likely all muscle, so it would be hard for the martial artist to do alot of damage quickly, he'd have to wear strong man out first, then finish him. the martial artist almost surely has higher stamina and is much faster., allowing him to keep going longer. but: if the martial artist got cocky and the strong man lands one solid punch, its over,

the only other exception is if the martial artist is a ground fighter, then it would be very difficult for him to get holds on someone as bulky as the worlds strongest man.

so basically, the worlds greatest martial artist would ALMOST always beat the worlds strongest man.

sorry your bored, go do some martial arts straining or something. ^.^

Strongest human would be stupidly muscle-bound, he probably couldn't keep up with a martial artist. I guess he could.. i dunno, pick up some bystanders and throw them at the MA guy, but eventually he'd run out of people. I'd go for the best martial artist, he's be so much faster the big guy would go down eventually. (In fact the most skilled MA guy in the world? Hell he's probably take him down with some uber kick.. or maybe a fireball..)

well I think it depends if you put like the human hulk againts a 130 pound karate guy , then yeah the strong man would just break the karate guy in half eventually , but If you put like a 180-210 mma fighter againts the worlds strongest man , then the martial arts fighter would win for sure.
