Get terramicin works great, you can get it at ebay

any other place you will need prescription.
Terramicin is an ointment that is really needed when you have pets and very effective.

Right now, clean the kitten eye with warm chamomile tea and do it often , you do not want the infection to go to the other kittens!!

Keep the eye as clean as possible with a damp towel. Don't rub as it will make the infection worse, If it's actually infected the only option is anti-biotic and an eye cream from the vet, but the anti-biotic is most important. The antibiotic, btw, is exactly the same thing as children's Amoxicillian antibiotic. The dose they give is by weight.. so...if you were to take some (I'm not saying to do this, btw, just talking hypothetically) of it, it would be the equivalent of a tiny pin-head's worth of a 500mg tablet.

Be warned that frequent eye infections in a kitten are usually a sign of feline leukemia or something similar. The mortality rate before 3 months is very, very, high. You should try to work out an arrangement with some vet to get it checked out. Call your locally shelter and ask for a list of groups/ organizations in the area that offer cheap/free vet service. Depending on your income, you're probably eligible.

Also, don't use any over the counter medications like hydro cortisone creams or the like. They can maybe help an infection, but they will probably blind the kitten.

You own a computer and have Internet access but you can't afford to take your cat to the vet? People like you are unbelievable. If you can't afford vet care for your pet, then don't have any. Animals need medical care the same way people do. How would you feel if your eye was infected and your mother wouldn't take you to the doctor because she had no money? I'm sure that wouldn't happen though. She would find a way to get you the treatment you needed. You should do the same for your cat. How about selling something to get the money or get a second job or cancel your Internet access. You could also work out some kind of payment plan with the vet. The vet is the only one who can sell you the antibiotic cream for your cat and it only costs about $15 so don't be irresponsible and take him.

The vet IS a possibility - in fact, it's a necessity.

You're wasting your time and money by trying to pick eye medication yourself. You can't choose a medicine until you know what the problem is, otherwise you risk making it worse. You must NOT use human medication on animals, particularly in their eyes, and particularly in kittens!

Did you know that eye problems can actually be a sign of respiratory infection? How do you know there isn't something more serious that an eye problem going on here?

It bothers me a LOT when people who own animals say they're not going to a vet. It's like saying you wouldn't take your sick child to the doctors - this animal depends on you, so you have to find money - and you DO have it, you've got a computer and the internet! Sort yourself out, and get that kitten looked at - one thing's for sure, when problems are left they become more expensive.

do no longer provide your kitten any drugs or treatment no longer prescribed via a vet. some human drugs are poisonous to cats. A 6 week previous kitten with an bigger respiration an infection is in serious danger if this is left untreated. Get the kitten to a vet and notice in case you could organize funds or use credit. I had my kitten taken care of a pair of weeks in the past and it cost me $40 for antibiotics, steroid pictures, and a respiratory treatment. See if there is an SPCA health center close to you. This kitten can very actually set up pneumonia in case you don't get it to a vet. make certain you hold the kitten hydrated (no dry nutrients, feed unseasoned fowl broth, canned kitten nutrients, meat toddler nutrients). you could loosen congestion via steaming up the bathing room and letting the kitten breathe the steam. Please get to the vet ASAP in the previous this gets worse.

If you go to any pet stores or even a farming store and talk to a person there who works in that isle they can help you it wont be as expensive. Eye infections are common for young cats ecpecily outdoor ones. After a few treatments your cat should be health again. =)

It happened to a couple of my kittens and my cat. I called the vet and they told me to do this. Dissolve salt in warm water and clean out the eye three times a day. i used clean cotton wool and i didn't dip it back in the container. i made new solution each time and i always cleaned out the container. It is also contaigous to other cats so try not to spread it around. use new cotton wool for each cat and wash your hands between cats.

Try Terramycin Antibiotic ointment. You can buy it at any local petstore, or online (I'd like www.jefferspet.com).

If the infection doesn't get better in 1-2 weeks, try to get him to a vet. The infection could be severe, and he can lose his eyesight.

Please email me if you have any other questions.
