No gum won't make you fat, it has very little calorie content.

swallowing the gum is absolutely TERRIBLE for you. why the hell are you swallowing it. it doesnt even taste good after you've been chewing on it... your body doesnt know how to digest it. so basically stop swallowing it. the problem isnt the actual swallowing of the gum. its the fact that you're chewing that MUCH gum. one stick of um varies between 5 calories to 15 calories. if you have 5 pieces of gum in a day. thats on average 25-75 calories MORE then you actually need!. and sweetie. everyone has a little bit of fat on there stomach no matter what they do... so if you dont like it. dont swallow the gum....cut back on the chewing of the gum. drink more water. do more exercise. eat healthy. and you'll do fine :) just seriously. stop swallowing the gum its terrrrrible for your digestive track :)

No, don't chew sugar free gum and don't eat anything that claims to be sugar free. It has modified sugar which has been known to cause brain tumors in rats as well as humans. In fact, when Asprtame was put on the market in 1984, that year, brain tumors had increased by 10%.
Fat is not stored as fat in the body, sugar is. So the answer is YES, you can gain fat by chewing that much gum. I don't have any advice really, don't swallow it? Chew less? Whatever makes you happy.

No, it does not - but you should worry about swallowing it.

The gum could stay in your body for YEARS. You're basically swallowing pieces of rubber. Try to break the habit, because it's really unhealthy.

Well you shouldn't swallow gum, if you don't swallow it it wont make you fat, if you do it probably will because it takes a long time to digest.

nope its not the gum that does it, but be careful cos if u swallow too much it supposedly sticks to your intestines and doesn't come out for at least 7 years. Just a theory, but it's better to be safe than sorry :)

It takes more calories to chew than is in the gum.

fat isn't water soluble, which potential if there is any fat in gum (which there should not be, verify the nutritional concepts) it wont dissolve on your mouth... and except you're ingesting the gum you wont ingest any fat from gum. that's generally carbs, if something.

it is very unlikely for a little 5 calorie per piece of gum to make you fat..so don't sweat it...

but pleeease do not swallow it..it very very harmful and bad for your stomach...this sounds nasty but it could mess up your digestive system horribly...and start to make you terribly constipated and possible tear up you anal canal...which would be very painful, expensive, and embarrasing to go the doctor to get fixed =P
