indeepthought-Yes I live in the UK which I know was reasonably christian 50 years or so ago. Now I don't know of anyone, barring one person, who actually attends church. (Then again I might not have any friends!!)

That'll be the devil then. Apparently, anything that can't be explained by quoting some old book is "The Work Of The Devil". This neatly explains things like bears being kept in cages they can't move about in just to keep up the p3ck3r of a stupid japanese man.

Go figure.

Let's break down your question. Do you have sources substantiating your claim that people are moving away from religion? Offhand I don't know if the number of people moving away from religion is is actually increasing. But playing devil's advocate for a moment, the validity of anything is not based on the number of people who believe it. In many cultures of the past it was a universally accepted truth that the sun revolved around the earth. Not only is it possible, but according to christian mythology, it goes right along with scripture that there will be those who do not believe "the truth".

1) There is a difference between something being universally true and everyone accepting that truth.
2) While on earth, people still have free will. So there's a chance they will "fall out of love" with God.

I think its because living by Gods word is Hard. It doesnt fit into what They want to do. And I also believe that Evil is grabbing on to anyone who will give it a chance. I dont know how many people you know that were a true Christian then turn atheist, but perhaps they never really accepted Jesus as their savior to start with.
