it is an interesting question! we know Jesus himself spoke Aramaic, but Adam and Eve came long before Jesus, they're also long before the Tower of Babel, so we know that there were no other languages prior. Not only that, no one was surprised when a snake spoke! my guess is Ancient Hebrew- which is probably wrong, and would flabberghast all the Mideast countries today that hate Israel, to think that their ancestors spoke the same language as God's chosen people!

Adam and Eve spoke a silent language, like mental telepathy! As animals communicate with each other so did Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden!! Mankind has lost his ability to communicate in this manner! Only once mankind once again realizes that he is linked and connected to all will he be able to communicate in this way again!

They lived before the scrambling of languages at Babel...
Genesis 11:7 Come. Let us go down and mix up their language. Then they will not understand each other.” 8 So the LORD scattered them from there over the whole earth. And they stopped building the city.
9 The LORD mixed up the language of the whole world there. That’s why the city was named Babel. From there the LORD scattered them over the face of the whole earth.

Remember, Adam and Eve spoke a language that was before the tower of Babel, where God created all of the beginnings of the languages we know now. Honestly, if they could talk to snakes, etc, they probably had mental telepathy. After the fall, then they spoke the mixture of all languages.

wow that is a good one. I would say Hebrew started some time after Abraham. Abraham was the first person in the Bible called a Hebrew (see Gen 14:13).

I think the original Bible texts were in Hebrew.
I've always been interested in reading the Bible in its original form. Reading anything else just doesn't seem worth it in my opinion.
As far as Adam and Eve's language is concerned, I don't know that they would have had language.

They weren't smart enough to know they were naked and you assume they had a hold of verbal language? Genesis starts us off on a whirlwind of contradictions. So Eve conversed with the Serpent but she didn't know she was naked. (Genesis 3:1-5) Also, your paper might include the conundrum that if God knows everything, then why would he have to ask Adam where he was! (Genesis 3:9)

Why would there need to be a name for any language before the tower of Babel?

Some bible believers believe that Hebrew is the original, mother tongue and that God gave Abraham knowledge of Hebrew.
No one really knows for sure.
