6 months? a year?

i have dry, damage hair that breaks off easily due to overprocessing (i dyed it a lot in the past, but never had any perm before)

the last time i dyed my hair was about 3 weeks ago; with demi permanent color

thanks a lot... i have fine, straight hair (it gets wavy sometimes) and never had a perm before, so i just want to change my hairstyle a bit.. not the keri russel curl-type though, just a loose curl/wave

i've cut my hair very short recently, so i need to grow my hair at least 4 inches before getting a perm

Give yourself a year of no processing. This will give you time to revitalize your hair and to find a good hair dresser who will help you with proper hair treament.

no offense..
but perms are really bad for your hair and they're not in style...
i know that some girls are going for the keri russle look but people can tell when it's natural curl and when it's a perm... they look completely different...
i hope that i didn't hurt your feelings but this is one of those things that i've been noticing for years and somebody needed to say it..
good luck

it depends on ur hair texture.

thick hair-3-4 mon.
medium-6-8 mon.
thin- perm is not needed

but just because you have dry hair, getting a perm willl not neccesarily help.perming chemicals are very harsh and will probably damage ur hair more.

it's a safe span of time already between the color and the perm. although, the perm is going to fade the color. so as long as you're ok with that, it's safe to get a perm.

I knew a girl who got perms once or twice a year. Still, straightening usually looks better to my opnion. But if you want a perm, that's great!
