Ignore them, or laugh it off - they really don't like that! If they think they are having no effect on you they'll give up eventually, but if they know their behaviour is upsetting you they will be sure to carry on.

It takes a lot of guts but have you confronted this person and told him/her how it is making you feel. Asked him/her why they are picking on you?
In any situation this is bullying. Is there anyone that can help you with this?. If you are at School/College is there a bullying or buddy system?
In the workplace there are many ways that this can be dealt with and you need to bring the situation to the attention of a supervisor so that it can be dealt with formally
If its in your social life away from school/work then do you have another friend why may act as an intermediary?. If not, like others who have given advice, avoid this person and seek out more worthy friends/activities.
Try not to resort to "giving as good as you get" as sometimes this can get out of hand.
You need to be cool and know that the person who is at fault here is not you, you are not responsible for other peoples appalling behaviour!!

Oddly enough, the best way to handle it is to kill her with kindness. If you act as though you don't quite understand that she is being bitchy, and treat her as nicely as possible, it will (a) confuse the heck out of her and (b) make you look good to everyone else.

If you allow her to get under your skin, which is what she is trying to do, she wins. Much better to take the high road and let her make herself look foolish.

What girl doesn't do this?! I have been back stabbed so many times-that I won't be hanging out with girls anymore. It is because I'm honest and am a good friend and that freaks bitches out-they know that they can use you. This girl that I work with is a dope head and recently she got mad at me because I wouldn't go out to her house and pick her up so she could get some cocaine and beer. She forgets that she got a free tattoo, a birthday and Christmas gift, that I picked her up for work because she is filing bankruptcy and her car is gone, etc. What about all the other crap that I have done for her?! GIRLS MAKE TERRIBLE FRIENDS!!!

Don't let it get to you and let the backstabbers know that it doesn't bother you thourgh your behavior. You don't even have to tell them a thing, just go on as though they made NO rude comment and completely ignore it. When they realize that they no longer get a rise out of you, they'll tire of it and move on to an easier target. They're just doing it to get some attention, don't give it to them. It's that simple.

I believe that the ones that are bitchy and backstabbing are the ones that are the most insecure. You are better off to stay away from someone like that and to not allow yourself to be sucked into their little world of drama. Eventually they will grow up and then they will be alone, and you will be around your true friends.

Ignore it. I learned a long time ago that I do not have time for people like that in my life. I slowly stopped answering the phone and stopped speaking to people that hurt me. I only made time for myself and friends that I knew were genuine. Eventually the backstabbers and bitches left me alone and now are basically nonexistent in my life. I have less "friends" than I did before but the people I got rid of were not my friends anyway. The people in my life now are here because they want to be and because I want them to be.

Don't talk to people who are bitchy. For people who back stab just turn around and walk away.

Ignore it do not re act just think you have more going for you than they have if they have to waste their time being nasty about you. they are ill mannered. Although a n extremely witty damning retort, if you can think of one can be very effective and warranted sometimes additionally it turns the tables and makes your tormentors look foolish.

Get them in the same spot then say to onme what the other said about them, tell the other not to deny it and walk off.

You don't talk then behind anyones back and they will sort each other out.
