Can anyone give a link to a webpage that explains the rules of crunches.

Also, how many times should I do them besides other exercise to focus the weightloss to the belly area ?

first of all - crunches wont help you will belly fat - they will make it look bigger because there is gona be more muscle underneath the layer of fat - crunches do not burn fat. the only fat burning exercise is cardio - you cant spot reduce body fat.
the proper way to do crunches - your fingertips hardly touching ears - dont help with your hands yourself, look in one spot in the ceiling and dont let it out of your sight, lift up shoulder blades off the floor - the only parts that's working is your torso.
you only need to do them 2-3 times a week 20-25 reps 2-3 sets.

The toughest ab exercise is on your back, legs at tabletop and alternate elbow to opposite knee.
Also what they call in pilates "the 100's".

I usually start out with 5 sets of 10 and then gradually increase until I can do them for 4 minutes straight....
