My mom wants to make a PayPal account, but she doesn't want to give out her credit card number...?

How does it work? She doesn't want her money to be stolen online. Is there anyway she can make an account without giving out personal information?

She doesn't need a credit card account, but certainly does need a bank account. There's no way to open an account without divulging certain personal information.

PayPal is treated as any other bank and is actually quite safe as long as you use complex passwords to access your account and NEVER click a link in an e-mail purporting to come from PayPal.

It's no different from any other on-line bank, they just offer some unique services. I've been with PayPal since nearly day one and have never lost a dime.

They do need a credit card number and a bank account number, but they don't ever use the credit card unless you tell them to.

Tips for security: NEVER follow a link to PayPal. Always make sure you are entering PayPal through the website address.

If you do that, PayPal is one of the most secure ways to do business online, and their policies with customer protection also address repayment in the even of theft.

The company that you have to pay your account every month are the one that sets the paypal. I will not give my visa or any infomation to other company outside the company where i owe money to. It' doesn't sound right. What do you get from it - you still have to check every month what's going on - might as well do it myself - right?

You have to have a verified acct to make transactions. This is done by adding a bank account and credit cards.
