Given the number of cats I have met in my life called Squeek or Squeeker, I'm guessing this happens a lot!
In nature, meowing is a sound made only by kittens. It is a baby's "cry" to communicate with its mother that it needs help or is lost. Cats that are feral (i.e., not kept as pets by humans) stop meowing when they reach adulthood.
The fact that our pet cats continue to meow shows that they see themselves as the "babies" of their human keepers. Since "meowing" isn't a "normal" sound for adult cats to make, each cat develops its own voice to communicate with its humans. It varies enormously from cat to cat.

My cat Mouse does the same thing. I have never heard him Meow. When I asked our vet about it, he said that if the litter was a large one, then it is possible that some of the kittens in that litter didn't develop their vocal cords properly. Since there was nothing else wrong with him, I decided to leave well enough alone.
Personally, I think that it is rather sweet to listen to him when he talks. Funny thing is, when he purrs, he is really loud. You can actually hear him purring even though he might be in another room altogether.
When people come over they will ask what his name is, I tell them that his name is Mouse, and they start to laugh. Then when he starts to "talk" they hear the squeak and understand why he is named "Mouse".

Just a different voice, I think. I have a cat that will turn a year old in a month or so, and up until now he has just squeaked or you can just hear air coming out. Recently he's found his voice and screams all the time, lol. I don't think there's anything wrong.

I don't think anything is wrong with her. I have some about that age and one of them squeeks sometimes. I guess I never really thought about it. I'm pretty sure it's just a different voice because the same is with my cousin's cat.

They should be just fine. I have had many kittens in my life, and some are just different than others. Just like people, some meow, some dont, some squeak....you get the idea.

I think it's just a different voice. I am sure that you can do a search and find out about different sounds that cats make.

I have a cat that never meows yet makes that strange squawking like sound, and it almost seems like hes trying to talk. Its nuts!! But hilarious. He's a crazy cat but he is healthy nonetheless! :)

I don't think there is anything wrong with her. One of our cats prefers to squeak even though he can meow.
