My man and I are in love, but my family doesn't want us to be together. You see I broke up with him once because he was possessive and I couldn't even go anywhere by my self. I want to marry him but no one in my family likes him because of the way he is. I dont know what to do. Should I listen to my family or marry him anyway? He's trying to change but my dad says that it wil only last as long as my bf knows the family is on to him. My dad says I should forget about him cuz I'm too young and should wait for someone who will treat me good from the start. Am I too young? I'm only 23 and still going to school?

I would wait another year before you two get married. Talk to your family and ask them to at least try getting along with him and bring your boyfriend to family functions. Give everyone involved more time to get along.

Honestly, what your family thinks of him is very important. One of my cousins was pretty serious about someone that nobody in the family really cared for... she ended up breaking up with him and is much happier now with the guy that her whole family likes. However, I don't really think you are too young. Best of Luck! I hope I helped!

i think Dad hit the nail on the head,if he is possessive now, whats the future hold for a relationship like this, may turn into mental and emotional abuse, finish school and give yourself time

Your family is wise and sees your b/f as he really is. Listen to them, they know what they're talking about.
