i read in the newspaper lately tt 'daddy's girls' will choose husbands similar to their fathers. is it true? does it also apply to mummy's boys? thanks

i think it is true but if they fall in love it wont matter

Well My hubby is not at all like the dad that raised me but I do think hes a lot like my biological father. So I think some women do consciously or unconciously choose mates for the similarity to their dads.

It is not always true if your father was a slouch and did nothing for his family.
If a woman has a good father who took care of his family, was a hard worker, etc I would think she should fine someone who is similar to her father.

yeah, not sure about guys choosing moms but daughters definately end up marrying dad,

we learn what is normal, even if it is dysfunctional from dad and like creatures of habit we recreate similar environments for ourselves unless we have some self awareness and conciously try not to repeat history, (which is rarely the case)
