a small square of black, sort of like a 3x5 card keeps popping up on my tv screen. sometimes it's just blank and sometimes it has some typing in it. One time it said 'now is the time for all to come to the aid' wrong, but that's what it said. sometimes it looks like symbols or foreign letters. If I flick the channel up or down, it goes away for a while.

You're TVs being tapped by spies. Keep a look out for a stationary van or shady looking guys.

is your picture-in-picture feature on you tv coming off and on? maybe theres something wrong with the remote or something, and its just turning off and on to random channels.

It could be the picture tube.
