Matt: 1:41. And it came to pass that when Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the infant leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost.

Why is it so hard for other Christians to accept infant baptism of water when clearly, to God such things are possible before birth. When Elizabeth was "filled with the Holy Ghost" was not John, at that moment, annointed? Why, then do we hesitate or pronounce judgment on other religions who practice mere baptism of water upon infants. I personally believe that world peace can be achieved more quickly if we invite the Holy Spirit into our children before they are born. What expression of love and caring this would be not only for that child and its parents, but if everyone did this, for Peace, true Peace within our world?

The point of baptism and chrism is being missed.

In the darkness of the womb, the John the Baptist fetus leaped for joy when the Jesus fetus was present.

John baptized many by immersion, including Jesus, because Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament Prophecies.

The sacrament of chrism seals the infant from the sin and temptation surrounding it - making the infant a member of the church. The job of the Parents and Godparents are to educate the infant/toddler/child on living a Holy and Pure life and knowing right from wrong. Many Parents and Godparents fail to do this in all denominations.

The problem is not the babies are babies. The problem is that water baptism does not fill you with the Holy Spirit. Prayer does this. Also, I understand the desire for our children to be filled with the Holy Spirit, but only they can invite that; No one can do it for anyone else.

These nits of theological disagreement come about when petty, small minded people are in desperate need of feeling better than other people.
