Are you sure the gear ratios are the same front and rear does the hop go away when you disconnect the rear drive shaft. "There's Your Sign" even different size tires can cause gear lock up thru the transfer case. Unlock the front hubs You do have Warn front hub lockers don't you or those awful stock automatic hubs? Trucks used for mudding with out differentials solid spools will hop going around turns because the axles are not slipping on soft surfaces ft and rear gears are turning at different speed tire catches and slipps. And that can dammage other parts. Hope that gives you a start in Gear 101 class dismissed.... Get a trailer to take it mudding do not drive on hard surfaces.
