The current strategy is REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE.

REDUCE means to use less of something. Drive fewer miles; get a car with better gas mileage; carpooling; smaller wattage lightbulbs; etc.

REUSE means to use something multiple times before the end of its life. Cloth grocery bags; used and rebuilt auto parts; using your travel mug instead of a paper cup for your Starbucks coffee; etc.

RECYCLE means to break something down to its most basic form and use the raw materials again. Recycling aluminum cans or newspapers; making plastic lumber out of milk jugs; shredding old cars into scrap metal; etc.

In my opinion, the four examples are:
A) REUSE
B) RECYCLE
C) none of the the three (energy conversion)
D) RECYCLE (if all they do is grind up the glass, I'd call it REUSE)

Reuse is the first one - the tire swing.
The others are considered recycling because they change into something else.
Other examples of reuse would be reusing wrapping paper or plastic grocery bags or making an art project out paper bags.

b is a good choice and d could probably be another choice (if glass is indeed used for road pavement). c - photvoltaic cell is an example of a resource which uses a natural resource like sunlight to produce electricity. Recycling is not involved.
