If you were running a race, and you passed the person in 2nd place, what place would you be in now?

Okay this is my take, I read your question (which I have never heard before) and the first thought that pops in your head is 1st place. Just to give you some back ground info about me, my IQ is 171, since I was 10 years old and still is, that's considered not just genius, but high genius, so I am not a dummy. The only reason I feel the need to tell you all this is because you are apologizing to these people and making excuses for why your riddle was easy. I used to post riddles because I thought it was fun for other people who like riddles, but I quit out of pure frustration. This is what most people on this site do, #1. they either google for the answer if they are the first to answer it and don't know it or #2. if there are already answers they read them and put the same answer. What fun is it to them to click on a riddle and not actually try to figure it out? I like riddles, I read them on this site and try to figure them out, then I read the answers, I rarely answer myself, I just read the answers to see if I'm right. I know people do what I said because I posted several riddles I got off one of the major riddle websites, I then went to copy and paste the answer to "additional details" from the same site for people and there was a person who answered my post and they had copy and pasted it from the same site, this happened more than once. Word for word same misspellings and all. I have read riddles on several websites and when I come back over here to Y!A I see the exact answer that was at the other site they just pasted it in their "answer." I also see as I said, people cheating and just copying others answers. You should make up a riddle that makes no sense, then look at the answers, you'll see a couple genuine answers that are different and unique, but for the majority everyone will say what the first person said for an answer.

Sorry this was so long, but I am annoyed by how people cheat. Before I quit posting riddles, I posted a really good one. I asked people in my details, "if they get it right off to not answer it yet, please give others a chance to figure it out", seconds later I had like 6 answers. I think people do that because they feel like others will think they're smart, why else would they cheat? That's why they google them too.

I told 6 people that are here right now your riddle and they all said 1st right away. I ended up figuring it out because you said it's not obvious, so I knew 1st was wrong. So don't apologize to these cheaters, that either heard it before or answered the same as the first person, or in the case of hard riddles google them.
