Uh . . . the first answerer has apparently never watched MTV.

Despite studying women's history and literature for several years, I still don't have a logical explanation for this. Of course, not everyone considers a woman like this a sl*t. Just depends on who you talk to.

Anyway, some chalk it up to a double standard. Some believe women should be chaste because of pregnancy, etc. There are too many factors involved to pinpoint one answer.

As far as research goes, it is the natural order of things. A man is physically strong and must remain dominant over everything, while the woman is emotionally strong and must remain smarter than the man. Why do you think the phrase "behind every great man is a great woman" came from?

A lot may argue about that, saying something naive like "today, all men and women are equal". Of course we all are, but we must all accept the facts! In very rare cases, some women are stronger than men, or some men are smarter than women. They are RARE, period.

but like I said, that's according to what I have read so far. Look at it this way... you see, it is true that the mother of a family is the "light". Although I am male, I must admit that a dominant man CANT tolerate disloyalty. I really meant "CANT", as in, "CAN NOT". While the mother can, this is what most men looks for in a wife (subconciously). The mother has to be strong, for the children, for the family, etc.

I read an article about this before, I just cant remember where...

I guess I don't know what the difference between a pimp and a slut is - neither sounds like a good thing, to me!

I would say that it's unhealthy to sleep around too much and I wouldn't get involved with a man who has this reputation. It's not cool and doesn't really paint the picture of a person who would be stable for marriage and children.

theres an old saying that goes something like this:

a man wants to be a woman's first lover, while a woman wants to be a man's last love.

..basically, men dont want to be with a woman whos been around. its their stuff.. they dont like the idea that she may compare them to her previous partners. they want a woman who they can be young again with, and teach and nurture. men are very insecure creatures, worried that they're not as good as the next bloke to walk along.. if their first, they're guaranteed a top spot in the rankings =]

women however aren't too fussed about being first. they like the idea that a man has been with millions of woman and still chosen them to settle down with... if a bloke has screwed around a few times in the past he'll [in theory] be ready to settle down and spend the rest of his life with the woman of his dreams.

its less the perceptions that different genders give out thats the problem, and more the people that they want to be.

women want to be the woman of a man's dreams, "the one" worth tying down to. they want security and stability.

men however arent too fussed about this, and all they want is a nice bird to shag who will adore them for being their first. they want to be the trusted one, the one whos worthy of a woman's virginity.

odd stuff eh? =]

Welcome to society, where women exploiting themselves is considered the only way of finding a decent guy (VERY RARE), men sleep with thousands of women because they're afraid of commitment and/or women have done something to him to scar him for life.. it's just the way the world works. Don't be surprised if in the future it's the other way around..

That's probably because:
1-Boys are too picky, and girls ain't?
2- Boys brag about it, and girls are sneaky, cautious, and when questioned, they deny it?
..
maybe...

...but, it would mean that there's just a few women getting all the "beating". ...
..so doing math...we'd find:
** plenty of guys, averaging 50 girls under their belt..
....on the other side...

***We have many girls with 0-3 avg, and
***a few brave ones with a 1000 boys/average, to even the equation here...

I suppose you're between the formers, while the rest keep suffering in silence...
....as unsung heroines!!

...Or something like that!!...I guess...
......
--food for thought!!

Why? I don't know, but you are right, thats how it is. A guy sleeps around and all he gets is admiration for being such a stud, but if a woman does, she is considered what you said. It doesn't make any sense. But thats the way it is.
