Well, the U.S. Army can't "give" you citizenship - only a civil court can. But the Army can solicit on your behalf to expedite the process, and you can enroll before you actually get it - you don't need the green card to join, but if you stay in they're going to start that process for you, and eventually give you one. If you plan on a career in the US military, though, you should apply for citizenship. There's a process to go through that your local Army recruiter can detail for you, or check them out on the web: http://goarmy.com During business hours you can get live help from a recruiter in the Chat area, or email your specific question in the Ask a Question section. Immigration law now changes almost daily in the U.S., so this will be your best up-to-date source, but with the Army backing you, that process is pretty painless and can take a lot less time.

The military has nothing to do with anyone getting a green card.

They will not and can not help you receive one.

You have to be a legal resident alien on your own.

Afterwards, after you get your green card, then you can join the military.

You don't need a green card to join the US Army but after a certain amount of time served they will give you one. Check out this website:

can't be done. you have to go through all the paperwork and whatnot just like any other Canadian Citizen. desire to serve in the US militray has no bearing on how fast your GC application is processed.

Not very hard. The army will give you US citizenship for joining.
