YES

You can dilute your blood and cause health problems.

As for how much, depends on the person.

As for answer 1, that amount is based on an average sized person, and is the recommended NOT MAXIMUM, it will be more for larger people, less for smaller

You should drink 2 litres of water a day at least, I probably drink nearer 3 litres.

The only thing I know is that there was a woman not that long ago who drank 11 litres of water and actually drown herself!

So, I guess there is such a thing as to much water eh?

There is, the condition is known as water intoxication and is common among those who compete in marathons and triathlons. When a large amount of water is consumed, the amount of plasma in the blood increases and it dilutes the amount of salt in the blood. The amount of salt in the body decreases over time, which will interfere with brain functioning and muscle function. A person should drink about 8 to 12 glasses of fluid each day, drinking too much more than that can cause water intoxication.

Yes the medical term is water intoxication. It is very rare and happens more often in infants who drink to much water in their bottles. What happens is that too much water causes and imbalance in the body's natural electrolytes. A normal healthy person who exercises and drinks water needs to drink 8-12 glasses a day. If you do not exercise 8 glasses a day is sufficient. You also get water in some of the foods that you eat. Good question.

Yes too much water is possible. Your interstital fluid contains ions such as Sodium and chloride. By drinking more water you distort the concentrations of these ions and can cause death. The amount that would cause this depends on your current hydration level and your weight/height.

Actually, yes there is. You can drink too much water and cause your hair to fall out slowly. You should drink, only when you are thirsty. Drinking too much water causes the skin to become lax and allows your hair follicles to fall out of your head according to Michio Kushi's Macrobiotic Diet.

Only you can say what is too much. If you drink when your thirsty, you are following your own body's wisdom.

Hope this helps.

Drink until you're not thirsty. Remember that one incident where that woman drank too much water just to win a Wii and died? Too much of anything is bad.
