Hindu religion supports breast feeding."Sthanya Paanam"=breast feeding is considered as a very sacred duty of a mother, because at birth a child can thrive and be healthy only on breast feeding

I came from a VERY religious background. The way they see it is if you can and choose to then that is good. Now they do say to go into a private room, to the car and cover up if out, so on...But they also say if you choose not to that God has given man the knowledge to make a good formula that is nutricious for the infant as well. Plus some can't like me. That is where God has helped us to still provide good milk for the babies in another way. I don't think that religion is pro or against it in anyway...At least it shouldn't be. Every person just needs to see what is the best for them.

I nursed by baby because Breast is Best. Religion played no part in it either way. I know of no religion that is opposed to breast feeding.

What??

Who cares about what religion thinks about breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding is the normal and natural way for a mother to feed their baby. Animal or otherwise.

Religion has no place in this issue.

Nursing is a natural thing. I can't see any religion being opposed to doing it. Some might oppose doing it in public.

I did breast feed, but I did it in the privacy of my child's room.
My husband never even seen me feeding them.
I may be just a little too modest. But, doing it in public was something I would never have done.
I don't think religion had a part in my decision. It was just me.
You can always freeze the stuff and then put it in a bottle when you are ready to feed. You don't have to whip your stuff out in public making the whole world uncomfortable.
