During fights why do fighters with scar tissue break open even with slight jabs?

Scar tissue is not as elastic as normal skin; pinch the side of your arm and pull and you notice that you can pull the skin away from the arm. Scar tissue does not do this so easily nor does it get any kind of blood circulation per say and when you get excess amounts of it built up around your eyes and the bones of your eye orbits and skull being very close underneath it rips, breaks down and tears very quickly.

With lasers now it is much easier to remove excess scar tissue and promote better healing and some fighters have had that done just for the above reason.

Because scar tissue is thinner damaged skin and isn't as strong.
