The best you will have is very hot ketchup. But you'll probably have a big mess. Sun dried tomatoes are just tomatoes, dried in the sun or a food dehydrator. Now, read the ingredients on your ketchup bottle. Microwaving will not exactly remove all the other ingredients and leave you with tomatoes.

I agree. It'll make a ginormous mess inside the microwave. I witnessed a guy in a suit at a dining table open a bottle of ketchup that was sitting in the sun. When he uncapped it, it went off like a bottle of fizzy soda. It was propelled all over himself. Same for the bottle in the microwave.

The plastic bottle will melt, the insides get hot and eventually pop and explode, esp. if lid is on.
