I do not know of a religion that does.

Just because you pray facing something does not mean to pray to it

God created us to pray in spirit and in truth (But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him), and not to an object. The praying to visual things is man made, and the Lord said ; Exodus 20:3 “You shall have no other gods before Me.; Deuteronomy 5:7-8 ,7 ‘You shall have no other gods before Me. 8 ‘You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

In some cases, it's because the statue, stone, or stick is the physical representation of a being or deity that has no "real" current physical presence - an example might be a Catholic praying to a statue of the Virgin Mary. The aren't really praying to the statue - they're praying to what the statue represents.

In other cases, it may be because the statue, stick, or stone may have - or may believed to have - special properties or powers that would give it a godlike presence, thus they pray to the statue, stone, or stick believing that making the object "happy" will, in turn, give them good luck, good fortune, good crops, or whatever else the worshipper wants/needs at the moment.

Hope this helps.

They are praying to the things that God made instead of God himself. This is analogous to directing praise to an artist by praising his sculpture or painting. The problem with this is that God explicitly commands against worshipping Him through created things. We are not to bow down and worship anything in the form of heaven above or earth below (Exodus 20:4-5). Romans 1:25 could not be more clear, "They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator — who is forever praised. Amen."

Why do you pray to allah? They pray to a statue, stone or stick if that is their religion. Just as you pray to your allah, just as jews and christians pray to their god. You can not tell them that your way is no more real then theirs. I am an atheist and I don't see a point in praying period but it is none of my business what others chose to do with their time as long as they don't expect me to waste my time following their religion.

They have set up idols because God is invisible. God ruled us all in the beginning , then people wanted an earthly ruler..one they could see. So he gave them what they wanted ...it didn't work out.
God has set up the heavenly Messianic Kingdom. We will have God, the Sovereign of the universe rule us soon. Man has ruled man to his injury.

Do not worship idols.....God is a jealous God and wants exclusive devotion.

I guess they just follow what their grand grand grand father/mother does. I don't know why?
For me in Islam, the Kaabah(stone) is to shows that our guide is one destination only(in arabic terms it call Qiblat). All muslims will have one qiblat which is called Kaabah no matter where you are. Qiblat is our guide to pray shows that Islam is headed only to ONE GUIDE. You can see during Haji festival(Haj) all muslim will headed to Kaabah only during pray no matter which position you are at that time.
But, originally if you do not know where your qiblat is(maybe you lost in the jungle, in plane or in other countries which does not have guide of qiblat, etc), you can pray by heading yourself to any position you think(follow your heartbeat) because God is everywhere no matter where you stand in any position during pray.
That is the real touch of Islam
God knows everything...

There is only one God, regardless of what you call Him. You may call Him Allah, I call Him God. What we call Him doesn't change Him or His laws. He says to love Him with all of your heart. He says to love your brother as yourself. He says worship Him only. He says you won't go to heaven unless you do.
